Jelsingrad Livar steel foundry ltd. Banja Luka is carrying
out significant investments for replacement of old and introduction
of new plants and technologies aiming to improve working conditions
in production.

When the works are
carried out and the new plants are put into operation (industrial
furnaces, automated moulding line, sanding device, annealing furnace
etc.), we are starting with replacement of the existing dust catching
system in the melting shop plant, moulding shop and cleaning room,
and we are introducing the new system which will include all polluters
in the foundry.
Besides providing better working conditions in the shop, the new
dust catching system will also provide air filtering before it
is released in the atmosphere, by which the emissions of polluted
substances released into the air will be reduced to minimum, that
is, it will be within the allowed limits according to the Law
on air protection.
New plants put into operation should considerably contribute to
increase production, improvement of the product quality, more
rational production, as well as to the high level of safety and
better working conditions, which will lead to a more humane and
compatible working environment for a worker.

The foundry is making significant
investments into the purchase of personal assets and equipment
for protection, and is insisting on a top quality equipment and
equipment that is adjusted to a worker.
In order to recognize dangers that are present in the foundry,
a permanent training of workers is carried out, as well as training
of new workers which should recognize and alert about the dangers.
Work safety education is considered an integral part of a business.
Namely, the more frequent use of new plants, technologies, tools,
raw materials and operating energy leads to a wider spectrum of
dangers. Recognizing the threatening dangers at work and measures
for their elimination are our goal and they represent a basic
precondition for the work safety. |

Ecology
The foundry was issued a decision on a request
from the Ministry for spatial planning, civil engineering and
ecology on approval of the Plan of activities with measures and
deadlines for gradual decrease of emissions, that is, decrease
of pollution and for adjustments with the best available technique,
all with a goal to gain ecology certificate from the authorized
Ministry.
At the moment, we are carrying out all necessary activities and
steps ordered in the decision in order to meet the deadlines,
and according to that and the article 69. of the Law on the protection
of human environment, company will submit a request for ecological
certificate.
After the certificate is issued, the next goal will be gaining
ISO 14001 certificate.
With these activities, the foundry will contribute to the current
issues on protection of human environment.
